FKK Ada Bojana – My Experience
If you’re planning a visit to Ada Bojana, I recommend staying at a nearby hotel rather than inside the FKK resort itself—especially if you have a car. For €20–50 per night, you can find comfortable apartments with terraces and kitchenettes, ranging from 30–50 sq m. I stayed at a hotel just five minutes by car from the beach.
Before entering the FKK Ada Bojana area, you must pay an entrance fee of €5–7. Keep your ticket, as it allows you to re-enter the same day without paying again. The resort’s parking lot is spacious, and the beach is only a 3–5 minute walk away.
The beach is divided into two sections. One offers sun loungers and umbrellas for €10–15 per day, but you cannot set up your own umbrella there. I don’t recommend this area. In my early visits, I paid for a lounger and umbrella but was disappointed—the water was full of branches and debris carried by the river. Because this section is closer to the riverbank, the water temperature varies unpleasantly as river and sea currents mix. The river water is a few degrees colder, making swimming uncomfortable.
To avoid this, head further south beyond the paid zone. There, the water is crystal clear, consistently warm, and you’re free to set up your own umbrella.
Just outside Ulcinj, Ada Bojana is a small island where the Bojana River meets the Adriatic Sea. It is renowned for its natural beauty, peaceful atmosphere, and especially its naturist beach.
- Naturist Beach (FKK): Ada Bojana is famous for its clothing-optional beach, attracting visitors who value privacy and tranquility in a natural setting.
- Beautiful Surroundings: Covered in lush greenery and surrounded by clear waters, the island offers a picturesque backdrop for walking, cycling, or boat rides along the river.
- Water Sports: Kayaking, windsurfing, and paddleboarding are popular activities, while birdwatching and hiking are perfect for nature lovers.
- Seafood and Dining: Local restaurants serve freshly caught fish and traditional Montenegrin dishes. Dining by the water at sunset is a highlight.
- Unique Atmosphere: Whether for naturism or simply relaxation, Ada Bojana offers a laid-back vibe and stunning sunsets over the Adriatic.
Only 15 kilometers south of Ulcinj lies a 13‑kilometer sandy beach stretching to the mouth of the Bojana River, continuing another 2.7 kilometers on Ada Bojana until the Montenegro–Albania border. This is the largest nudist colony in Montenegro, popular among Western European visitors for its peace and unique atmosphere.
The right fork of the Bojana River is bridged, connecting Ada with Velika Plaza (Great Beach). Along the banks, wooden huts with unusual fishing devices called Kalimera create an exotic, Far Eastern feel. Ada Bojana, far removed from the world, is a true oasis of peace and relaxation. Its silence is broken only by the calls of rare birds and the sound of waves. Thick vegetation forms a special micro‑ecological world, home to rare plants and animals. The most beautiful restaurants are found along the riverbanks.
Isolated from the everyday world, Ada Bojana offers joy and freedom to lovers of nature, nudity, and tranquility. With its sandy beaches, crystal waters, and lush greenery, it remains one of Montenegro’s most unique destinations.

The island of Ada Bojana formed at the mouth of the river of the same name. There is no better place in Montenegro to practice nudism than Ada Bojana! There is a nudist settlement and beach – the country’s largest nudist resort.
This place is known for its strange energy and the river is the only one in the world that occasionally flows backwards! Here you can enjoy clear sea water. The island of Ada Bojana, with its rich flora and fauna, is an ideal place for walking, for activities such as birdwatching, sunbathing on the beautiful sandy beach and swimming in the crystal waters of the Adriatic Sea.
